Tanks is a unique place. Tucked away in a shopping plaza in Carollwood section of Tampa. This is 1st and foremost a Steeler Nation bar. The owner is from that region. He lives and dies black and gold. Steeler games are definitely an event there with polkas, beer specials, and a great party atmosphere. The place has great sandwiches and burgers, (The Tankenstein is a full pound of meat, fries, peppers, slaw). Some surprises on the menu, like edamame, hummos & pita along with tavern fare. White chili is excellent, so is the Wurst to First Platter, with several varieties of sausage and all the fixins. Perogies always on the menu and often "Pigs in blanket" as all Pittsburhers refer to stuffed cabbage. When it's not Steeler season lots of other sports on. Also live music. Service can be spotty, especially when it's crowded but everyone is friendly and tries hard to please. If you're from Western PA you'll love it and if you're not you'll still enjoy the HUGE tap beer selection and unusual menu items.

Tank's is our new place! They have 51 beers on tap with at least 6 Belgians on tap at all times...my favorite is Chimay. They also have a lot of obscure beers that you don't ever see at any other bars. Their menu is awesome, too. My favorites are the Tankinator sandwich (once you try it, you'll be hooked)and baked wings (garlic hots and Old Bay are my favorites). They also have edamame, baked goat cheese, and beef on weck...not your normal bar fare. I'm from up north and this place has a "northern" bar feel. Tank, the owner, is from Pittsburgh (it's a Steelers bar) and makes you feel like family when you're there. If you like a cool place with a huge selection of beer, a great menu, and no pretentions, you'd like this place.

I heard from a friend that I should try this place out since they had a wide beer selection, so my husband and I went to see for ourselves. I don't think we will be going back. They clame to have all these beers but my husband asked for four different kinds all listed on their menu and they had none of them. Then I asked for a Grey Goose and cranberry...out of Goose. So I'll take Kettle One...out of that too. Our food took 40 minutes to get to the table and what came out was a chargrilled hamburger (after I ordered it med. rare) with cold fries and a shrimp basket that was not edable. I was hoping for a new pub to frequent in the area but it will NOT be Tanks Tap Room.

Tank should go back to being a teacher because managing a bar is not his calling. The first problem is that the servers have no set area's to serve. So after my waitress took my drink order she disappeared. I'm sitting next to the bar so this is frustrating. 20 minutes later the waitress comes back to the server station at the bar (4 feet from me) to get my drinks. This basically repeated for both my wing order and second beer. So now I've been there for close to two hours and I'm 20 minutes into waiting on my 3rd beer when I decided go to the bar and get the beer strait from the bartender. After 10 minutes of standing there hoping the bartender might look at me and talking to a fellow patron about how tough it is to get a drink in this place, the bartender finally acknowledges my existence and takes my order. He grabs a dirty glass off the counter, dunks it in the sink as he is walking, and fills the glass with beer. PLEASE, at least give me the illusion of a clean glass. I told him to keep the beer and then spent the next 4O minutes trying to get my tab from the owner "Tank" since our waitress was MIA. Tank obviously was not a math teacher.

Have been to Tanks twice since finding out about the place and that the owner is from Pittsburgh The service the first time was excellent, the second time they appeared to be understaffed (waitresses) Will be going back hoping that the service improves since Chris makes you feel welcome and seems to want your business. The baked wings were great and the add on's to the sandwich menu (Primanti Style) was a welcome treat and the food prices were reasonable, looking forward to the place turning into a good Steeler Bar and some specials on pitchers of plain old American beer during the games. Would recomend the place to all Steeler fans and anybody who wants good food, friendly atmosphere. The game this week against the Eagles is on ESPN so there should be no problem showing it so come and support a former Pittsburher.

Tank’s has new owners and is under new management. There have been significant improvements. There is a wide selection of beer and several wines. There are new items on the menu like Perigees and Quesada’s. New ovens means faster service.
I hang out there often and meet my friends. Chris is a friendly guy who cares about everyone’s experience. Gone are the gobs of banners and flags, making more room for people and conversation.
The new and remaining staff been friendly and provide good service. There have been some very good local performers recently and entertainment is something the owners plan to continue with.
Right now is a good time to patronize Tanks. This is a great out of the way place on the main drag, right next to all the generic chain restaurants that are exactly the same every where you go in the country. It is a local hang out and as more of us locals frequent, they will make improvements to cater to us.

the entertainment (if one could call it that) was aweful. the singer would stumble through a verse and then the chorus and then stop because he did not know the rest of any of the songs he was attempting to play. he was also extremely unprofessional. one of the members of my party commented that the singer was not very good, causing him to storm off stage saying "f*ck you i still get paid" the bartenders were also very rude to us.
